Our congregation is made up of people from many different locations who all have something in common; we love to worship God and we speak English! We are from a variety of Christian backgrounds including Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic and Anglican. Most of our members are full-time residents, although our congregation is boosted by a varying number of visitors who come back and worship with us whenever they can.
Peter & Averil moved to Spain and became pastors of Pilar Church in October 2013.
In their youth they spent many years working with Spanish speaking people both in Spain and in the UK and both speak Spanish fluently. With their four children they worked in various UK churches but always felt that God would return them to Spain one day.
Keith and Lesley have been part of Pilar church for the past 11 years. Keith is a church Elder and Lesley is the secretary.
They came to Spain to retire in 2005 planning for a nice quiet retirement in the sun. However, God had other ideas and has kept them busy leading and supporting the church ever since.
Irene is a member of our leadership team; she regularly leads worship and also (with her husband Charlie) leads a home group.
They moved to spain in 2002 and at first attended a small Spanish speaking church which met in a garage in Pilar. This church eventually turned into Pilar Christian Community Church as we know it today.
Phil is our church treasurer, rota organiser and also frequently looks after the PA during services.
Phil has been living in Spain since 2007 and is an English teacher at a local International school. She also runs a Ladies Barbershop Singing group who meet in the church on Wednesday evenings.
